FRENCH TOAST
Serves 4.

1	large egg
1 tbs	butter, melted
3/4 c	milk
2 tsp	vanilla extract
2 tbs	white sugar
1/3 c	all purpose flour
4-6	3/4" thick slices challah, or other airy thick-cut bread,
	preferably day-old or oven-dried.

Beat eggs in a flat-bottomed bowl or piepan. Whisk in butter, then
milk, sugar, vanilla and flour.

Soak bread in batter, 10 seconds per side, before grilling in a
buttered skillet or griddle over medium heat.
